Sheena Smith

My goal is to make the theatre experience as pleasant as possible for patients, to work efficiently, and to upskill my anaesthetic abilities as much as possible.

I became an anaesthesiologist because I like the idea of being able to make a patient feel as comfortable as possible for procedures and because I enjoy being in theatre.

Outside of the operating room, I am currently supervising a Masters in medicine for a registrar specialising at Wits and have worked as a consultant in the state sector.
