The period around diagnostic, medical, and surgical procedures is a stressful time for patients and their loved ones. The anaesthesiologist plays a crucial role in managing expectations coupled with allaying fears and concerns. I enjoy being kept current, relevant, and competent to effectively manage the biological, psychological, and social aspects of each patient.

I have a keen interest in neonatal and paediatric anaesthesia.

I am a member of PACSA (Paediatric Anaesthesia Community of South Africa) and involved with the paediatric guideline steering committee. I am in the process of addressing guideline updates around paediatric bioethics and consent.
