Bojan Korda
Specialist Anaesthesiologist and Critical Care Fellow
Anaesthesia allows me to provide excellent one-on-one care for patients without distraction and with an attention to detail not found in any other field of medicine. The wonderful feeling when I take a patient through a major surgery and then they wake up asking you ‘Have you really done it already? I feel fine!’ never goes away.
I want to provide patients with a sense of certainty that their best interests are always core to how I treat them and that their safety is paramount.
Anaesthesia as a field is constantly evolving, and I hope that through evidence-based and modern perioperative care (including the pre-operative phase and postoperative period), I can influence the outcome of many patients and optimise their surgical outcomes.
Outside of theatre, I mentor many young anaesthesiologists and other specialist trainees, as well as provide training for regional anaesthesia, intraoperative ultrasound, and specialist examinations. I am also in training to become a critical care subspecialist anaesthetist – also known as an intensivist.
